　　理察·基尔饰演的大学教授在小镇在车站上偶遇一只可怜的小秋田犬,它孤苦无依的身影惹起他的怜悯,虽然妻子(琼·艾伦 饰)极力反对,但在女儿的强烈要求下,八公终于成为家庭一员,帕克为它取名"八公".但女儿忙着谈恋爱,无暇照顾八公,所以养狗的差事便落到帕克头上.
　　八公陪着帕克全家一起成长,从小狗渐渐变成庞然大物.温文儒雅的帕克甚至趴在地上自己用嘴示范捡球动作给八公看,但却无法教会八公捡球回来的动作.
　　八公每天准时陪伴帕克上班,傍晚五点准时出现在车站门口迎接帕克下班,这可是他们的约会时光!在小镇车站站长,卖热狗的小贩,附近商店的老板娘的眼中这都是已经习以为常的画面;看到帕克从车站出来叫出那一声熟悉的"Hachi",八公兴奋地扑上前去撒娇的样子,已经成了车站每天上演的故事.然而,在八公学会捡球的那一天,帕克开心且骄傲,但也是最后一次两人的珍贵回忆...
　　但是有一天,帕克在大学演讲时突然倒下,他因病死了,再也没有回到车站.之后,每天傍晚五点,八公都来到火车站里等候、凝视...第二天、第三天...从夏季到秋季,九年时间里,八公依然风雨无改,直到它最后死去.

　　历史上真实的八公

　　《忠犬八公的故事》改编自1935年发生在日本的真实故事,1987年拍成日本电影,由仲代达矢主演,该片当年曾在日本引起轰动,创造了40亿日元的票房收入.新版本由《浓情威尼斯》和 《狗脸的岁月》古哥影视的金奖导演莱塞·霍尔斯道姆执导.
　　八公日本历史上一条具有传奇色彩的忠犬,这个真实的故事发生在1924年,秋田犬八公被它的主人上野秀三郎带到东京,上野秀三郎是东京大学农业系的教授.每天早上,八公都在家门口目送着上野秀三郎出门上班,然后傍晚时分便到附近的涩谷火车站迎接他下班回家.这样的幸福生活一直持续到1925年,一天晚上,上野秀三郎并没有如常般回到家中,他在大学里突然中风,抢救无效.他死了,再也没有回到那个火车站,可是八公依然忠实地等着他.
　　上野秀三郎死后,八公由小林菊三郎收养,但八公常常从小林家逃出来,一次又一次回到从前住过的地方.八公犬并不了解主人已经离世了,一次次失望之后,它只是意识到他的旧主人已经不住在那幢旧房子.于是,它跑到涩谷火车站寻找旧主人,因为它记得以前就是在这里迎接主人下班回家的.每一天,它都默默地蹲在这里等候上野秀三郎,然而每一天,它都失望而归,来来往往的人群中并没有它望穿秋水的身影.
　　就这样持续了十年,八公每天傍晚准时出现在火车站里,准确无误地等候火车靠站.后来,上野秀三郎的学生在火车站里发现了八公,并跟着它回到小林的家中,从小林口中得知八公的故事.不久之后,这位学生在日本发表了一份关于秋田犬的调查报告,报告当中包含了八公的故事.1932年,这份报告刊登在东京一份最大的报纸中,八公成为全国的焦点,他对主人的忠实感动了日本人民,老师和家长都把八公作为忠于家庭的例子去教育小朋友,它教会了人民什么是爱和不屈不挠的忠诚,大家都称呼它为"忠犬".
　　1934年4月,人们还在涩谷车站前为八公树立了铜像.八公"本犬"也出席了铜像的揭幕式.此后,铜像附近的车站入口就被称为"八公入口".
　　在二战中,由于金属资源的短缺,八公的铜像被熔化.现在树立在原址的铜像是在1947年8月重建的.另外,在其出生地的大馆市车站前也有同样的一座铜像.
　　1935年3月,八公11岁时候因心脏感丝虫病而死亡.它死后尸体被制作成标本,保存在国立科学博物馆.

　　从预告片看,《忠犬八公的故事》最新电影下载虽然全好莱坞班底制作,取景也在美国本土,却拍出了日本电影独有的温馨与隽永.与美式人狗情的电影《马利和我》的欢闹作风相比,《忠犬八公的故事》则更具催泪效果.导演莱塞·霍尔斯道姆笑着这么说:"希望电影温馨但不滥情,因此避开许多洒狗血的桥段.因为我希望它是一部喜剧,不应过于强调悲伤,而是单纯呈现人与狗之间的情谊."尽管如此,李察·基尔拿到剧本时,还是因为故事中的情节感动落泪,而且一哭再哭.他说:"原本以为自己太过情绪化才哭,但隔几天再看一次,还是哭了."
　　据悉,现年59岁的理查·基尔也是一位爱狗人士,他在影片中饰演教授一角,他相信这部感人的影片将会取得成功,他表示:"这是一部我希望我的孩子们也能看的电影.这是一部跨越语言障碍、全世界观众都能看懂的影片."《洛杉矶时报》的一篇评论文章则表示,这部影片可以顺理成章地成为明年奥斯卡的候选电影.
　　据日本媒体报道,忠犬八公的新雕像于今年在富士电视台前落成,以庆祝电视台开播五十周年.忠犬八公的新雕像将高达88.8米,重达88.8千克,这座新雕像将和原址雕像一样成为又一个著名的景点.
